Psyched for the Journey Ahead

Dear Family:

Sri Nath and Lyla Johnston are journeying to Geneva for the 6th international, youth-organized peace summit, 'Nesting Peace: Creating Infrastructures to Sustain Diversity'!

We do not see this as a vacation but as a serious opportunity to expand our toolkits as agents of Joy and Love.

We each feel profoundly guided by Great Spirit to go forth and have this experience in the name of all our relations and to learn from master architects of 'infrastructures for peace' so we can help create a beautiful and self-nourishing societal fabric for all beings.

This unique conference attracts us because it embodies the very subject matter it is set to discuss. The integrity of the summit and the clarity of it's mission invite us to join the movement.

We are each committed to utilizing every penny of your gift to discover and integrate new techniques for peace building and bring this knowledge back home. We hope to leverage our experience to help design health and beauty in our respective communities.

We have both forgone conventional jobs for several years in order to fully dedicate ourselves to the cultivation of peace on earth. We believe that this event will sharpen our ability to do so and enlighten us to new possibilities for global healing. We see your contribution not as an investment in a trip, but as an investment in the sustained health of people and planet. Thanks for taking the time to read this and have a beautiful day!

Sincerely,

Sri Nath and Lyla Johnston

Sri Nath is a willing student of uprooting and embracing with compassion, the deepest unconscious levels of unhealthy addiction to substance, food, people, blame, & violent thinking, to recover the conscious light of pure love, from within. He is an apprentice of Environmental Justice & Compassionate Communication & he has lived a perpetual pilgrimage, studying the language of the heart, mindfulness practice & permaculture with 1000's of people across all sectors, throughout North America & Asia, especially in schools, prisons, and intentional spiritual communities.

About the Conference

We have been in touch with the organizers of the conference and they are an incredibly committed group of young people who are working around the clock without pay to put on this international summit. They are incredibly sweet people wanting to bring health to our world.

It is a seven day event focusing on 'Concepts of Infrastructures for Peace, Experiences by Civil Society with Infrastructures for Peace and Experiences by Governments with Infrastructures for Peace.'

The conference has several 'heavy-hitters' including Victoria Fontan (Costa Rica), Charles Eisenstein (United States), Dominic Barter and Ayman Qwaider (Palestine) and will be discussing serious attempts at leveraging social infrastructures to wage peace on regional, national and international scales.

The conference will have, 'Live examples of infrastructures for peace available throughout the conference, learning by doing and experiencing processes of peacemaking first-hand and
interactive sessions that utilize innovative formats.'

You can see why we are excited to go.

On top of all that, the whole conference is staged upon a foundation of gift economy ethics and principles and strives to make cost a non-issue for attendants who cannot afford to come. They, 'strive to apply the principles of the gift economy and renouncing financial impositions; involving a very diverse group of participants; using the power of crowdsourcing [and] forming the organizing team almost entirely of the talent and creativity of youth.'

Conference Website:

Funding Goal Breakdown for Transparency:

$3300- Airfare (depending on how soon we can buy our tickets)

$770- Lodging (11 days in Geneva)

$350- Food

$1160- Conference Costs

= $5,580

Any extra we raise will be donated to other people who would like to attend the conference, but do not have sponsorship (of which there are many).

Let us behave like we live in a world of abundance, as we do and let the myth of scarcity crumble into the embers of illusion from whence it came!
