Help Miranda Attend Lost Valley's Holistic Sustainability Semester!

A campaign by Miranda Kraus

Hello! My name is Miranda Kraus and I'm a student at the University of Puget Sound. This summer, I was accepted to Lost Valley's Holistic Sustainability Semester, which is a 12-week program where I will receive a Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC), and the Ecovillage Design Education Certificate (EDE). Both of these courses focus on the intersection between socially conscious design and making sustainability accessible for all; and they will give me skills to pursue my dream of starting a nonprofit that creates sustainable affordable housing in urban areas.

This course introduces 5 important layers of sustainability:
1. Ecological - Permaculture design, natural building, sustainable agriculture/forestry, appropriate technology, and water systems
2. Social - Community organizing, self-governance, conflict resolution, and non-violent communication
3. Economic - Sustainable development, alternative economic indicators, gift economy, local currency, and right livelihood
4. Worldview - Remembering our place in nature, Indigenous wisdom, the theory of everything, sacred activism, and creative leadership
5. Personal sustainability - yoga, meditation, nature awareness, artistic expression, Tai Chi/Qi Gong, and more

Every dollar makes a difference toward my goal! WeTheTrees runs an "all-or-nothing" model so if my goal isn't met, it won't be funded. So tell your friends and loved ones who love supporting sustainable education and changemaking :)
